Android: How to update Google Camera to the latest version

If you chose not to update Google Camera when the option was first presented to you, and now want to update it but dont know how, dont sweat we are here to help 🙂

Here is how to update the app on your phone:

  1. Open the Play Store App on your phone.
  2. Press the three horizontal bars on the top left corner of the app, it will open an menu for you.
  3. In this menu Choose “My Apps
  4. The next page has a list of all the apps installed on your phone, with the ones with updates available on top of the list.
  5. Scroll down to find “Google Camera“. Press on the logo to go to the app page
  6. Here you will get two options on the top right: Update & Uninstall. Press Update.
  7. Hit Continue in the App Permission Screen to start the download and install.

How to Set Android Reminders from your Web Browser

Google has a feature that allows you to set reminders on your android phone from the web browser. For this you will need to be logged in to the same google account as the one in the device.

Here is how to do it:

  1. Open the web browser and go to http://google.com
  2. Check if you are logged in, you can do this by checking the top right corner of the google page. If you are logged in your userpic will be there.
  3. Type “Remind me” on the google bar and hit enter
  4. Use the Create Reminder block on the top of the results to set your reminders.

How to Change Proxy Setting in Google Chrome

Google Chrome uses the same connection & proxy settings as Windows. Changing these settings will affect Google Chrome as well as Internet Explorer and other Windows programs.

Here is how to change the proxy settings in Google Chrome:

  1. Click on “Customize and Control Google Chrome” menu (Located to the right of the address bar)
  2. Click “Options” button.
  3. In “Google Chrome Options” window select ‘Under the Hood’ tab.
  4. In the ‘Network’ section, click the “Change proxy settings” button.
  5. This will open another window.  In the “Internet Properties” window click “Lan settings” button.
  6. Under “Local Area Network (LAN) Settings” window click on the Proxy server for your LAN” and enter your proxy settings.
  7. Click OK and Apply to save the settings.

How To Disable Vibration on Touch in Android

Android gives vibration feedback on some touch events like press of back button. This can be useful and also be a pain. Here is how to disable this feature:

  • Go to Home -> Settings -> Sound

Set Contact’s Default Picture/Name/Number In A Single Shot – Android

One of the best features of Android is its ability to merge your social networking accounts with your contacts. By doing that it brings all the information needed by you to a single place and makes it extremely easy to communicate by centralizing your contacts.

But on the flipside, it becomes extremely irritating when you realize that a contact has multiple userpics for different services and your phone has picked the random animated image as the default.

So how do we fix this problem and select the right default image for a contact?

Fortunately there is a simple way to specify the Default Picture/Name/Number/Email for a contact.

To change the default information of a contact do the following:

  1. In your contacts page (where you have the list of your contacts) long press a contact that you want to change.
  2. When the menu comes up, press select “Mark as Default”
  3. Now you will be given a list of options for the Contacts details.
  4. Select the default in each section and hit save
